The Chair of International Economic Relations, Transport Economics and Logistics  (CIERTEL) is an independent structural unit of the International Business and Customs Institute (IBCI) under the RTU Faculty of Engineering Economics (FEE).

 

The activities of the Chair are primarily aimed at provision of qualitative education and research possibilities and guidance in the field of international economic relations, transport economics and logistics. 

 

Key objectives of the Chair are:

  • Implementation of the study programmes offered by the Chair by ensuring streamlined organisation and qualitative delivery of subjects and courses included in CIERTEL programmes;
  • Development of research activities focussed on relevant national economy, management of international economic relations, economics of transport and business logistics aspects, by applying state of the art techniques – economic and mathematical modelling, system analysis, risk theory, statistical analysis and other approaches leading to original and novel solutions of problems investigated; 
  • Publication of textbooks, methodological materials and scientific papers, as well as other publications falling within the particular branch of research represented by the Chair.   

 

The academic staff of the Chair of International Economic Relations, Transport Economics and Logistics: 3 professors, 2 associated professors, 1 assistant professor, 5 lecturer, 1 assistant, 2 leading researchers and 3 researchers, 50% of the staff have the PhD degree.
